The Company

One of the largest chemical and pharmaceutical companies in the world, with a significant legacy in product development demonstrated through their range of categories and their history of investing in innovation, people and facilities to support growth. With significant investment and world leading technical operations, they are now looking to add a Process Engineering Manager owing to an internal promotion.

The Role

You will be responsible for a large team of qualified Chemical Engineers at various levels and with some responsibility for graduate intake, implementing site equipment and process strategy and driving through improvement and change across site operations, setting team work and overseeing personnel development in the department.
Reporting to the Engineering Director, your responsibilities will include:

- Coaching and leading the process engineering teams development, and mentoring their performance
- Leading and implementing site Equipment and Process strategy with a focus on continuous improvement, Lean and modern manufacturing techniques
- Leading and overseeing the identification and implementation of improvement and optimisation programmes through detailed process engineering analysis
- Provide chemical process expertise in procedural change to site facilities and equipment
- Coordinate process and GMP reviews including design, construction and commissioning
- Oversee and manage qualification reviews, validation planning, environmental assessment and safety reviews

The facilities on this site are at the cutting edge of technology including purpose built equipment for fermentation, clean utilities, centrifugation, harvesting and effluent treatment.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you MUST be able to demonstrate:

*Extensive leadership experience as a chemical engineer, ideally in a Biotech or Pharmaceutical environment
*Strong academic track record in Chemical Engineering
*Experience of leading projects and people in a Chemical Process Engineering role
*Extensive experience of continuous improvements and modern manufacturing techniques
